CBFS Entrepreneurship Day is an annual event organized by the Youth Entrepreneurship Support Initiative (YESI). The CBFS Entrepreneurship Day 2019 was held on the 23rd of April 2019 under the leadership of the Dean, Dr. Nassar Al Mawali. The event was also graced by the Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs, Mr. Anis Moosa Al Lawati.
CBFS Entrerpreneurship Day 2019, provided an opportunity for three student Entrepreneurs to re-live the path they have walked to become an Entrepreneur. The panel discussion involving the student entrepreneurs was focused on transferring their learnings to other students, so that they too could become successful Entrepreneurs in future. The Student Entrepreneurs advised the fellow students to start small, instead of worrying much about higher capital requirements, so that they could learn from the business environment and grow their businesses without worrying too much about the financial risk.
YESI also launched their student led CBFS Entrepreneurship Club, during this event, to support the students with the right eco system and develop the entrepreneurial mindset among the students. CBFS Entrepreneurship Club was inaugurated by the Dean, Dr. Nasser Al Mawali. In his speech, Dr. Nasser explained the importance of Entrepreneurial mindset and encouraged the students to join the club to get the maximum benefit.
The signature event of the CBFS Entrepreneurship Day 2019 was the Business plan competition. The competition attracted 8 teams and top 5 teams presented their business plans during the event. The presentations displayed the passion, enthusiasm and eagerness of the students to enter the field of business, in future.
Another highlight of CBFS Entrepreneurship Day was the speech by Mr. Azzan Al Busaidy, from Injaz Oman. Mr. Azzan introduced the Injaz competition and explained the rules of the competition. He also encouraged the students to take part in the Injaz competition and make good use of the opportunities available.
The Event also included a 10 Rial Business Challenge, where two groups of students competed with each other to conduct business activities at with a capital of OMR 10. The Business Challenge provided an opportunity for the student groups to conduct their businesses in an ethical manner, within the college premises.
These activities held as part of CBFS Entrepreneurship Day 2019, provided a good chance for the students to receive hands on experience in conducting small scale business activities.
