Research Interest Group

Research Interest Group

The Research Interest Group (RIG) is a group of faculty members working on a joint research area. It is a space for discussing challenges, best practices, and novel ideas in research and encourages collaborative research among the faculty members within the College. RIG provides an area or theme-specific research structure to improve college visibility and connection. A RIG is typically led by a group leader who collectively coordinates the research activities within the RIG. The college has formed eight Research Interest Groups based on the following themes. The faculty members will be affiliated with any of the following RIGs depending upon their interests and competency.

Analyses the principles and practices of Islamic finance, including Sharia-compliant banking, investment, and financial instruments, to advance ethical and equitable financial solutions.

Financial Technology

Investigates the influence of technology on financial services, such as blockchain, digital currencies, and fintech innovations, to promote financial inclusion and efficacy.

Finance and Investment

Examines financial markets, portfolio management, and investment strategies to enhance investment performance and stimulate economic growth.

Data Science and Artificial Intelligence

Utilises artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, and data analytics to resolve intricate financial issues, improve decision-making, and identify new economic opportunities.

Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG)

In an effort to advance sustainable and responsible business practices, emphasises the integration of ESG factors into corporate governance and financial decision-making.

Innovation and Entrepreneurship

Promotes the development of a culture of creativity and economic growth by promoting research on innovation management, startup ecosystems, and entrepreneurial strategies.
